Writer’s Block began as a small project at Steele Wines in 2002. Since then, the Writer’s Block line has developed by now offering nine distinct wines to choose from. Grenache is a very common grape variety; however, it ripens very late, requiring a hot and arid growing season to reach full potential.

The Grenache opens with a pleasant bouquet of cherry and dark fruit. Decanting this wine is almost essential to extracting everything it has to offer the senses. Tasting reveals surprising notes of strawberry joining the well-balanced harmony of cherry and dark fruit.  A light spice hangs on the palate for a simple finish. This isn’t a complex wine; however, it offers a pleasing variety of flavors that compliment ham or chicken dish. It might be a little simplistic to be in good company with a fillet.
